This is the game of strategy, tactics and planning for two or more players. All you will need are your imagination, some friends and this Manual. This game is based on the fantasy universe of Warhammer which is set in a magical world where battles are conducted by powerful warriors using all manner of fantastical weaponry. Battles could be decided with massed ranks of heavily armoured infantry, human man-o-wars steadfastly holding ground or devastating explosions from artillery units fired from behind the lines. It has multiple races which each have their own unique set of units that can be used to build an army to suit any playing style. The Warhammer world is populated with a host of mysterious ancient beings, be they ancient vampire counts or ancient vampire counts who are actually the sons of god-like beings. All these warriors have an aura so powerful that it can be detected even by the weakest of mortals. This manual has been designed to help you create armies for your games. There are so many units available in this game that it is impossible to list them all here. However, these are some of the most common and visible armies: "You start with a small company of eleven infantry and three cavalry units, with no access to any special abilities or magic items. Your troop choices are limited to guerilla warfare, resistance fighters, or regular infantry. You then select your captain (who sports the highest-ranking title in your company) and determine if it is a basic company or a company of veterans. A company of veterans includes veteran lieutenants, veteran captains, and veteran enlisted men. These units start with higher initiative values than basic companies, but must be used to conduct guerilla warfare. The leader of each unit receives special orders. Select basic or veteran orders for your soldiers. All orders are used in the same manner. These issued orders are also used for melee attack rolls, except when using the all-out assault order (an ability acquired through advancement during your adventures in the Warhammer world). The Warhammer game is played in turns. Each turn is divided into 7 phases in which players alternate in taking their turns. PHASE ONE: Order Phase During this phase you will issue your units orders for the turn. The unit will follow these orders throughout the next five phases, which are movement, shooting, melee, magic and close combat. You can issue further orders during this phase or at any time during the remainder of the turn. PHASE TWO: Take your turn During this phase you will move your units around the map and resolve any actions that they have taken in previous phases. PHASE THREE: Shooting Phase In this phase you can choose to use your shooting from any one of your ranged weapons, other than magic weapons. You may also decide to use a bow for a melee attack. The combat statistics for all units in melee range are listed for each weapon, including their abilities and how many times per round they can be used in melee attacks. cfa1e77820
